Our aim for students when they come to CityYouth every day is that they are welcomed to a place that allows them to be just who they are. We want CityYouth to be their “home away from home”. We use the following weekly schedule during the school year to ensure that our students receive valuable, age-appropriate programming that supports our mission of developing Christ followers. All activities are infused with our CORE values of Christ, Others, Rigor and Engagement. We extend our hours during the summer and enhance our daily activities. Please visit the individual Strength, Wisdom and Character pages for more up to date information on each of our CORE areas.
Our students follow the schedule below on Monday through Thursday. Please scroll down to see the schedule for 7-12 grades.

Description of CORE rotations
Bible – Daily Bible lessons building on our mission and vision. We use a guiding question and scripture to build curriculum.
Learning Lab – Students receive at least 40 extra minutes per week reinforcing skills in Math or Literacy as needed. They also utilize computers to access their school applications using their online accounts to continue working on lessons that have been uploaded from their respective schools. For example, Moby Max, Starfall, Scholastic, etc. If they are not working on the computers, they are working on reading and writing or with a tutor one on one. We periodically assess the students needs and customize the schedule to fit what our students need. Our goal for this rotation is to complement what they are currently working on in school so they can stay on pace with their classmates and achieve exemplary academic outcomes.
Health/Wellness – We have a variety of equipment that we use to build in physical activities that cultivate motor skills and foster teamwork. We are also helping student explore ‘Our Time to Serve’ as they work together.
CityGroups – During this time, students get to practice what we are teaching them. This rotation is designed to help them build strong, Christ-centered peer relationships. We use a combination of team building and individual activities to foster unity and accomplish goal setting and achievement. All activities are developmentally appropriate for the grades present on a given afternoon.
Our older students have different needs than our younger students. By the time they reach 7th grade, they are exploring more abstract ideas and discovering how they fit into a larger world view. Therefore, at CityYouth, we have to respond to these needs in a special way. Our goal with our older students is to improve their critical thinking skills, build Christian character and provide opportunities for them to give back to their community. In addition to periodic special activities for our older students, we follow the schedule below for 7-12 grade.
On Thursdays and Fridays we conduct group activities and devotions for our older students designed for their age group. We use this time to cultivate relationships so that they will have strong peers as they are faced with the challenges at school. Students may be serving at CityYouth or spend time in a small group with our youth ministry staff.
